13-Day Itinerary

Thirteen Days at Two of Fiji's Finest Resorts

The local knowledge to make the most of every day.

How It Works

Fiji has a handful of properties that operate at a level most of the world hasn't discovered yet. This itinerary takes you to two of them. Nanuku Resort Fiji sits on its own stretch of Pacific Harbour coast—no other properties in view. Kokomo Private Island is surrounded by the Great Astrolabe Reef, one of the world's largest barrier reefs. Longer stays at each, because the whole point of being somewhere this good is having time to actually feel it. This isn't about ticking boxes. It's about finding rhythm in a place that lets you rest.

Day 1

Arrive at Nanuku Resort Fiji

The flight down the Suncoast gives you your first sense of scale. The water shifts from turquoise to deep blue. By the time you land, you're already quiet.

From Nadi Airport you'll transfer to the Pacific Island Air domestic terminal for the scenic coastal flight to Nanuku's private airstrip. About 25 minutes in the air, skimming the coast. On arrival the Nanuku team meets you with a welcome that draws from traditional Fijian ceremony—the kind of thing that sets the tone immediately. You step off the tarmac onto your own stretch of coastline. No other properties are visible from the resort. The team's already thinking about what you want to do next. Let them know. The resort is built around doing exactly that.

Worth knowing

  • Scenic 25-minute coastal flight from Nadi to Nanuku's private airstrip
  • Private vehicle transfer from Nadi available if you prefer to drive (about 2.5 hours)
  • Traditional Fijian welcome ceremony on arrival

Traveller tips

  • The flight down is half the experience—sit by the window
  • Nanuku sits on its own stretch of coast with no other properties in view
  • This first day is about settling in and deciding what calls to you

Days 2–6

Nanuku Resort Fiji

Six nights here means you stop thinking about time. You stop tracking what day it is. You find your rhythm.

Families find the space between the kids programme and the spa—time alone and time together. Active travellers head to Beqa Lagoon for diving that ranks among the world's best. Some days you'll take the Bilibili raft rides through the mangrove forests for something gentler. Everyone finds Nanuku's private island eventually—sunset cinema, a bonfire, marshmallows. The kind of memory that travels home with you. The Nanuku Spa is worth a dedicated afternoon. Don't leave it as an afterthought. Off-road buggy tours run through the mountains behind Pacific Harbour if you want to explore beyond the coast.

Worth knowing

  • Beqa Passage diving—bull sharks in open water, diverse reef systems
  • Nanuku Spa with dedicated treatment time across six days
  • Private island access with sunset cinema and evening gatherings

Traveller tips

  • Book the Beqa dive well in advance if it's a priority
  • The Bilibili raft rides are gentler and beautiful if diving isn't your pace
  • The spa operates at a level that makes one visit feel insufficient—book multiple treatments

Day 7

Transfer to Kokomo Private Island

The seaplane flight is its own journey. Forty-five minutes skimming east toward Kadavu, leaving one island and arriving at another.

After a farewell ceremony that feels more genuine than most departures, a private vehicle drives you to Nausori Airport. Kokomo's private seaplane is waiting. Forty-five minutes in the air, skimming east toward Kadavu. The coastline of Viti Levu falls away. You cross open water. Then the Great Astrolabe Reef comes into view—turquoise, impossibly clear, vast. You arrive at the Kokomo jetty where the entire staff welcomes you in song. Everything is included from here. Settle in and stop tracking the bill.

Worth knowing

  • 45-minute private seaplane flight with views of Viti Levu's east coast
  • Arrival at Kokomo jetty with staff welcoming you in song
  • All-inclusive experience—meals, drinks, water sports, spa, diving included

Traveller tips

  • Sit on the left side of the seaplane for the best views along the coast
  • Kokomo is in the Kadavu group within the Great Astrolabe Reef system
  • The seaplane ride is a highlight in itself—stay awake for the views

Days 8–13

Kokomo Private Island

Seven nights at Kokomo. That's how long it takes to genuinely decompress. That's when the reef becomes familiar. That's when you start to feel at home.

The reef surrounding the island is as good as diving gets in this part of the world. You can see it from the resort. Direct access whenever you want to go. The Yaukuve Spa Sanctuary operates at a level that makes one visit feel insufficient—you've got seven nights, so book more than one treatment. Families with teenagers find the island entertains itself. Couples find the privacy. Some days you'll take a village tour on Kadavu to see how island life moves when you step away from the resort. Other days you won't leave the island at all. There's manta ray season, and we'll advise on timing when you book. The water is clear. The reef is thriving. The food is remarkable. By the time you leave, you'll understand why people come back to places like this.

Worth knowing

  • Great Astrolabe Reef—the fourth largest barrier reef in the world, direct from the resort
  • Yaukuve Spa Sanctuary with multiple treatment options across seven nights
  • Village tours on Kadavu for island life beyond the resort

Traveller tips

  • The Great Astrolabe is world class for diving—plan for multiple dives across the week
  • Manta ray encounters are seasonal—we advise on timing when you book
  • Book multiple spa treatments—you have seven nights to rest

Day 13

Depart Fiji

The sound of Isa Lei follows you to the jetty. The seaplane flies direct to Nadi this time, tracking up the west coast of Viti Levu.

The seaplane arrives at the Kokomo hangar adjacent to Nadi Airport. A private transition to the international terminal. You'll be quiet on the flight home. That's usually what it feels like when Fiji has done its job properly. If you need a final night in Nadi before your international flight, we can arrange it—a buffer to ease back into travel time.

Worth knowing

  • Private seaplane flight direct from Kokomo to Nadi, tracking the west coast
  • Seamless transition to international terminal
  • Optional final night in Nadi if you prefer to leave a day later

Traveller tips

  • The seaplane ride home is reflective—bring headphones if you want them, or sit with what you've experienced
  • A final night in Nadi can ease the transition back—ask us about it when you book

Good to know

Common questions

How do I get from Nadi to Nanuku?

You have two options. Scenic coastal flight with Pacific Island Air (25 minutes to Nanuku's private airstrip), or private vehicle transfer (about 2.5 hours). Both are arranged as part of your package.

What is included at Kokomo Private Island?

All meals, non-alcoholic drinks, water sports, one dive per day, spa treatments, kids club (if applicable). Flights and transfers between resorts are private and included.

Is diving experience required?

Nanuku offers diving for certified divers at Beqa Lagoon. Kokomo has certified dive guides for all levels—first-timers can experience the reef with instruction. Talk with us about your experience level when you book.

When should I book this itinerary?

Both properties are exclusive and fill early. Book 3–4 months in advance for the best availability. Manta ray season at Kokomo runs November to May—let us know if this is a priority.

What's the best time of year?

May to October is the dry season—dry roads, clear skies, cooler temperatures, excellent visibility for diving. November to April is wet season but fewer tourists. Manta rays are seasonal; we advise on timing when you book.

Is this suitable for families?

Yes. Nanuku has a kids programme and family space. Kokomo has activities for teenagers. Many families do both resorts over 13 days. Let us know your family's rhythm when you book.
